Northwood Stadium to Host Deaf UK Athletics World Championships Training Weekend

Deaf UK Athletics is pleased to announce that we have agreed with Northwood Stadium, Hanley, Staffordshire to host two training weekends in Stoke On Trent’s World Class Athletics stadium in preparation for the forthcoming World Athletics Championships of the Deaf in Turkey, September 2008.
The Dates:
• 25-27 July 2008
• 15-17 August 2008
Programme
Friday:
Arrivals 6pm to 8pm
Saturday:
10.30am – 4pm Training (Lunch in between)
6pm-8pm – Meal
9pm onwards – Meeting
Sunday:
10am-12pm Training
12pm Departures
** The above is the provisional timetable and is subject to alternation.
It is strongly advised that ALL athletes who are interested in representing GB must make 
every efforts to attend the sessions. World Championships and Deaflympics competition information will be given out as well as other useful details.
The World Championships will form a major part of the GB Deaflympics Athletics Selection process. Any athlete who finishes in the top 7 (where the event has more than 16 competitors) and achieves the WC Qualification Standard in Turkey will be pre-selected for the Taiwan Deaflympics.
Please note that the final selection for the Deaflympics will be subject to an athlete’s welfare, health and fitness immediately prior to the deadline for selection for the Deaflympics.
