DUKA is very proud to have played its part in ensuring that the 2012 Olympics are held in London. We hope this will further encourage deaf and hearing impaired people to take up athletics and encourage them to reach world class standard. Also we would like to see some of them taking the opportunity of representing GB in international competitions as well as in the Deaflympics.
Brian Kokoruwe, Director, Deaf UK Athletics, said
“I am very proud of the hard work and effort that Lord Coe and his London Bid Team put in to ensure that the 30th Olympic Games returned to London in 2012.
Big congratulations to everyone involved. We hope to see that there are increased participation opportunities, in athletics, for the deaf and hearing impaired people. We would like to see these opportunities become widely available.”
